Time for our monthly update from MusicYo:

PARTS - Seems the parts sales were pretty brisk at first. They've since slowed but still "doing OK". This curve was expected and they seem pleased with the overall pace and volume of sales. Obviously the TransTrems were the item running out the door the fastest, but they've still got plenty in stock.

Replenishment of bass jaws is estimated maybe 3-4 weeks out. Though they listed them as "Out of Stock" on the site before they'd disappeared recently. Seems to have been a programming mixup and they are now showing up again. Be sure to sign up on their site for an email when they arrive.

No new parts to be added to the offering until after the NOS bodies come out.

SHIPPING - As we saw with the posts to the site, the poor packaging issues with the first parts orders seems to have been handled. They've gone to a standard policy of packing them in small boxes and the complaints have subsided.

NOS BODIES - MusicYo is waiting on a shipment of new necks from Moses Graphite. Though they have a bunch of necks sitting there for the new line they are not compatible with these older bodies. The new ones have a four bolt neck attachment, dropping the middle one that might interfere with the truss rod. These NOS bodies were already drilled for the 5 bolt system.

Moses is making a special batch of the new blend necks that will accomodate the 5th hole. MY will use old neckplates from the trailer (rather than the newer individual inserts) for the heel. Right now look for these in late April/early May. It's currently in Moses' hands - the sooner they deliver, the sooner we'll see them.

REISSUES - Still refining the bodies with the Japanese supplier. Had some minor issues to be worked out, but they expect to have the final test bodies in house in the next 4-8 weeks. They then are planning a small pre-production run of maybe 100 bodies in the July timeframe. These will initially all be guitars; no word on anything with the basses. We knew they'd lag by several months.

I'd like to reiterate that they have not investigated producing the all graphite L's yet. The reissues are only the wood body / graphite neck models (M, R & Q).

SPIRITS - Overall sales have picked up in the last 8 weeks, maybe another sign of overall economic recovery. The long awaited XP basses have been crated up for shipping from Korea and should be on a boat as I write this. Delivery runs anywhere from 3-6 weeks out once that happens. They will have both teh standard 4 and wide 5 string versions available.

Working on some other additions to the site so be sure to check back often.

Added original Type1 TransTrem instructions to the 'Techical Info' page. These are a big help as they give the hints for how many turns to roughly set each threaded ball end when first installing strings.

Also added Newburgh copy of the "Lifetime Limited Warranty" letter to 'Technical Info' as well. This is notable as the guarantee against defects in materials & workmanship is limited and has several requirements including registration of the instrument. It also limits it to the lifetime of the original owner only.

Back from vacation. Updated serial number database. Working on scans of original TT instructions. No news from MusicYo as contacts are in Frankfort, Germany for MusikMesse (the European equivalent of NAMM). Should have more details and updates next week.
